“Angeline”
These dolls are made in the traditional Ojibwe style. They are made of genuine moose leather stuffed with leather scraps and sewn with wax thread, similar to the sinew that would have been used traditionally. The clothing on the doll is based on actual clothing worn by Ojibwe and Métis people during the fur trade era. Ojibwe dolls were made without faces in the belief that it was up to the Creator to give things a face and it also left more to the children’s imagination.
This doll features a woolen capote or blanket coat, wrap-around skirt, cotton chemise and leather pouch.
