Of 'Searching for the Hudson Bombers" Stevens says: "I wanted to write a book in honour of my young uncle who was killed in
Algeria. I knew he was not considered a hero except to our family".
"In the actual writing," Stevens says, "it became apparent that hundreds of thousands of patriotic youth were risking their lives for a democratic ideal - while many global institutions were padding their pockets or enhancing their goals by collaborating with Nazi Germany."

This book is dedicated to the families of thousands of young air men from the Allied world in World War Two, who trained in, then went off to fight aboard a civilian passenger plane: "Hudson Bomber".
