Nokomis Nokomis was raised east of Thunder Bay and now living in Calgary. She paints of life as it was almost sixty years ago in the bush north of Lake Superior. "Because I view the world through female eyes, most often my imagery reflects the lives of women and children going about their day to day routines. My message is very complex, it's simply that you've had your life and I've had mine and it's really only been the props that have been different†Anyone who has met Nokomis truly knows how her undaunted and unflagging spirit is vividly and dramatically epitomized in every stroke of her paintbrush.
