Elle Andra-Warner
is an author, journalist and photographer specializing in writing about
travel, history, culture, people and business. She is the best-selling
author of six non-fiction books about Canadian history, including the
Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, The Mounties and Robert Service. Her
award-winning articles appear regularly in major publications and her
newspaper columns have been in print since 1994. As a corporate writer,
her list of clients include municipalities, corporations, travel
associations and arts organizations.A
political studies graduate of Lakehead University, Elle is a long-time
member of Professional Writers of Canada, Travel Media of Canada and
The Writers Union of Canada. She is a national presenter of journalism
seminars, an on-line guest journalism lecturer with UCLA and the
co-editor of the Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society’s annual journal
Papers & Records.Estonian
by heritage, Elle was born in a post-Second World War United Nations
displaced persons camp for Estonians located in Europe. She came to
Canada with her parents, settling in Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay).
Except for briefly living in Northwest Territories and northern
Alberta, Thunder Bay has been Elle’s home since her arrival in Canada.
