Text: This painting is meant to convey the horrors of our youth. It is based on a true story of a group of youth who watched their friend commit suicide while they were out sniffing gasoline. The issue gets sporadic media attention and people down south read the newspapers and give it ten minutes of thought before forgetting about it. I can't forget and this painting is meant as a reminder.
Our leaders focus on residential school syndrome, land claims and spend their time squabbling for scraps from Ottawa, while our children are dying. The past is the past, lets look too our future before they are gone.
