"This is a self-portrait painting. I wanted to use all the colours in this painting to reflect a vibrant and balanced order to the composition.
There is a Thunderbird which is a major part of both the painting and me as my Ojibwe name is Osawaa Biniise or Yellow Thunderbird. My artistic expression is reflective of the Woodland School of Art which I am quite proud and honored to be a part of. I am a Shaman artist and I am privileged to be a part of such a special and unique conveyance of both an art form and also the teaching of our traditional knowledge"
